Simplex 4099-9004 — a single action addressable manual fire alarm station, taking both power and data from Simplex IDNet communications over a single wire pair and occupying one address.
The 4099 Series combines the familiar Simplex manual station housing with a compact communication module. An integral individual addressable module (IAM) constantly monitors the station's status and reports changes to the control panel, so the station is a supervised addressable point rather than a contact on a conventional zone. Activation takes a firm downward pull; completing that action breaks an internal plastic break-rod, visible below the pull lever, whose use is optional and which deters vandalism without raising the pull force needed for easy activation. The lever latches into the alarm position and stays extended out of the housing, giving an unmistakable visible indication of which station was operated. Operation complies with ADA requirements. Construction is compact and sealed to reduce dust infiltration, wiring lands on screw terminals, and the reset key lock is keyed the same as Simplex fire alarm cabinets.

Watch the CA suffix when ordering. In this product family the 4099-9004 is the single action station, but the 4099-9004CA is a two-stage addressable manual station — a different device, not a regional variant of the same one. Confirm the exact SKU against the drawing before ordering a replacement.

Language variants: models listed are English language. Add F for French or B for bilingual, for example 4099-9004CA, 4099-9004CAF, 4099-9004CAB.

Resetting needs the key, and the rod: station reset requires a key to return the lever and deactivate the alarm switch. If the break-rod was used, it must be replaced — keep 2099-9804 replacement rods on the truck.

Two ways to test: station testing is performed by physically activating the pull lever; electrical testing can also be performed by unlocking the station housing to activate the alarm switch without operating the lever.

Address before mounting: the address is set on an 8-position DIP switch on the station itself.

Indoor use only — the UL listed range is 32°F to 120°F and the station is intended for indoor operation.

Retrofit adapters exist: adapters are available for retrofitting existing addressable stations, including semi-flush and surface trim plates and flush mount adapter kits, which usually avoids patching the wall.
