Simplex 4098-9856 — 49" pre-drilled CPVC air sampling tube for TrueAlarm duct smoke detector housings.
A duct smoke detector only sees the air its sampling tube delivers, so the tube has to span the duct. Simplex selects tubes from one chart covering the whole 4098-985x family, and the selection is made by duct width — not by housing model. The 4098-9856 is the wide-duct member of that family.
- For overall duct widths of 24" to 46" (610 mm to 1168 mm)
- Suggested cut length: 3" (76 mm) longer than the duct width
- Black CPVC custom extrusion; inlet holes are pre-drilled
- Fits TrueAlarm duct housings 4098-9685, 4098-9686, 4098-9688, 4098-9755, 4098-9756 and 4098-9687
- Housing minimum duct size: 8" (203 mm) square or 18" (457 mm) diameter
- Ordered separately from the duct detector housing
Measure the duct before ordering. Ducts 13" to 23" wide take the shorter 4098-9855, and ducts wider than 46" take the 4098-9857 — ordering outside the charted range is a common cause of returns.
