Simplex 4098-9855 — 24" pre-drilled CPVC air sampling tube for TrueAlarm duct smoke detector housings.
This is the short tube in the Simplex 4098-985x family, intended for narrower rectangular ducts on branch runs and smaller air handlers. Simplex selects sampling tubes by duct width, so the 24" supplied length is only stock to cut from; what matters is that the duct falls inside the charted range.
- For overall duct widths of 13" to 23" (330 mm to 584 mm)
- Suggested cut length: 1/2" (12.7 mm) longer than the duct width
- Black CPVC custom extrusion; inlet holes are pre-drilled
- Fits TrueAlarm duct housings 4098-9685, 4098-9686, 4098-9688, 4098-9755, 4098-9756 and 4098-9687
- Housing minimum duct size: 8" (203 mm) square or 18" (457 mm) diameter
- Ordered separately from the duct detector housing
Check the duct width first. Ducts of 12" and under use the 4098-9854, and anything 24" or wider needs the 49" 4098-9856 — a tube that does not reach across the duct cannot sample the airstream correctly.
