Simplex 4098-9854 — TrueAlarm duct sampling tube sized for a 12 in. overall duct width.
A Simplex duct smoke housing draws a sample of the passing air across its sensor. The pre-drilled sampling tube spans the duct with its holes facing upstream, and a shorter exhaust tube returns the air downstream. The housing includes its exhaust tube; the sampling tube is ordered separately by duct width, then trimmed on site.

Pick by duct width, not by eye. 4098-9855 covers 13 in. to 23 in. (330 mm to 584 mm) and is also cut 1/2 in. over, while 4098-9856 (24 in. to 46 in.), 4098-9857 (46 in. to 71 in.) and 4098-9858 (71 in. to 95 in.) are each cut 3 in. (76 mm) longer. This is the inlet tube only, not the exhaust tube supplied with the housing.
