Simplex 4098-9793 — TrueAlarm IDNet isolator sensor base.
The 4098-9793 does two jobs in one part: it is the mounting base and SLC connection for a Simplex TrueAlarm analog sensor, and it provides IDNet communications isolation at that device.
Isolation is what keeps a single wiring fault from silencing a whole loop. When a short circuit is detected on the output side, the base isolates automatically and the remaining devices keep communicating on the surviving wire segments, in either Class A or Class B configuration. Isolation can also be commanded per base from the control panel, which turns a whole-loop fault hunt into a targeted one — the difference between an afternoon and a morning on a troubleshooting call.
Accepts the TrueAlarm photoelectric (4098-9714), heat (4098-9733) and ionization (4098-9717) sensors. Compatible with Simplex 4100ES, 4010ES, 4008, 4010 and 4100U panels. Up to 250 isolator bases per loop (200 with the 4008), allowing isolation right down to device level. Maximum line resistance between panel and isolator, or between isolators, is 10 ohms — 780 ft (238 m) at 18 AWG.
4-7/8 in. (124 mm) diameter x 15/16 in. (24 mm) high. UL 268, ULC, CSFM and FM listed. Sensor head ordered separately.
