Simplex 4098-9788 — two wire mounting base for 4098 Series smoke and heat detectors and the QuickConnect2 sensor.
The base holds the field wiring and the head plugs into it, so wiring stays undisturbed while heads are swapped. What it offers depends on the head fitted: with photoelectric and ionisation smoke detectors it gives connections for a remote alarm LED; with heat detectors or QuickConnect2 it is a plain two wire base with no options.
- Screw terminals for in and out IDC wiring, 18 to 14 AWG
- Fits a 4 in. octagonal or square box 1-1/2 in. deep, or a single gang box 2 in. deep
- Assembled diameter 4-7/8 in. (124 mm); base height 11/16 in. (17 mm)
- Flush mounts level with the surface or recessed up to 1/4 in.
- Adapter plate 4098-9832, 6-3/8 in., is required for surface mounting and for retrofit
- Takes one IDNet address with a 4098-9757 sensor, ordered separately
Choose another base where the job needs more: a heat detector used with a remote LED needs the 4098-9684, the 4098-9683 adds an alarm relay, and a four wire circuit requires relay base 4098-9682 with separate 24 VDC power.
