Simplex 4098-5611 — conventional heat detector with a 135 °F (57.2 °C) fixed temperature element and no rate-of-rise function.
It is a plug-in head for Simplex two-wire and four-wire bases, for spaces where smoke detection would nuisance-alarm and a plain temperature threshold is what the design calls for. The base decides the wiring and any relay or remote LED.
- Fixed temperature 135 °F (57.2 °C); the rate-of-rise row reads not applicable here
- 10.5 to 33 VDC two wire, rated 15 to 32 VDC four wire, 25 percent maximum ripple
- Maximum alarm current 64 mA at 30 V, 33 mA at 20 V; standby under 70 µA
- UL maximum spacing 50 ft; listed to UL standard 521 Edition 7, and to both UL and ULC
- Ambient 32 to 122 °F (0 to 50 °C), humidity 10 to 95 percent non-condensing
The 4098-5610 is the same head with rate-of-rise added; 4098-5612 and 4098-5613 are the 200 °F versions. Bases are separate numbers: 4098-5207 and 4098-5261 two wire, 4098-5680 with relay, 4098-5682 four wire. The older 4098-9612 this is widely said to replace carried 70 ft spacing against this 50 ft, so an existing layout needs rechecking.
