Simplex 4090-9006 — suppression release peripheral (SRP), supplied pre-mounted in a red NEMA 1 enclosure.
The 4090-9006 is the releasing device for IDNet addressable systems: it is what actually fires a suppression system — clean agent, pre-action, deluge — on command from the fire alarm control panel. It communicates with the panel over the IDNet channel and includes built-in abort functionality.
Release uses dual command control: both the IDNet communications command and an activated NAC must be present before the peripheral will initiate. That two-condition requirement is the safeguard against an unintended discharge from a single fault or a single command.
The unit ships as a complete assembly, peripheral module plus enclosure. The red NEMA 1 box is not cosmetic — mounting in it is a condition of the ULC listing. IDNet channel terminals (TB3) accept two 12 to 18 AWG conductors per terminal.
Verify the releasing sequence and agent-specific requirements against the Simplex application documentation for your panel before commissioning.
