Simplex 4010-9922 — modular Network Interface Card (NIC) for the 4010ES.
The NIC is what puts a 4010ES on a Simplex 4120 fire alarm network, so that panel and the other panels in the building share alarm, trouble and control information instead of standing alone.
- Option card; communicates with the CPU through a PDI connector
- Panel-to-panel communication over fibre or twisted shielded pair, in Style 4 or Style 7 wiring
- Up to two media cards plug into each NIC — media cards are ordered separately
- Occupies two vertical blocks; 30 mA current draw
- NICs connect point-to-point, so a single wiring fault does not take down the whole network
Handle by the edges with a grounded anti-static wrist strap — this is a static-sensitive board, and ESD damage on a network card usually shows up as intermittent faults rather than an outright failure.
