Simplex 4009-9808 — dual Class A adapter option card that converts two notification appliance circuits on a 4009 IDNet NAC Extender from Class B to Class A.
The four NACs on the 4009 IDNet system board, and the four more on a 4009-9807 card, leave the factory as Class B (Style Y). Where the specification calls for Class A (Style Z) return wiring, this card piggy-backs onto the board on an 8-pin header and brings the Class A return leg out on terminal block TB1. A position on configuration switch SW1 tells the extender which pair is adapted.
- Two NACs per card; four cards maximum per 4009 IDNet NAC Extender
- Adds no current draw
- 2 A per NAC on the system board, 1.5 A on a 4009-9807 card, 8 A total
- Class A return lands on TB1 with a 10K 1/2 W end-of-line resistor
- Wiring 18 AWG minimum, supervised and power limited; instructions 574-326
Despite the name, this card does nothing to the IDNet line: Class A IDNet output comes from the 4009-9809 repeater and Class X fiber from the 4009-9811.
