Simplex 4007-9813 — wired copper network media card for the 4007ES network interface card.
A 4007ES joins a 4120 network through a network interface card, and the NIC has no field terminals: the physical layer is a plug-on media card. The 4007-9813 is the copper one, terminating a twisted-pair span to the next node. A span needs a card at both ends, so count per network leg, not per panel.
- Mounts on the 4007-9810 network interface card; assembly 565-413
- Up to two media cards per NIC, one per port; types may be mixed
- Adds 55 mA maximum at 24 VDC regulated
- 18 AWG twisted pair: 17,000 ft (5.4 km) at 9600 baud, 10,000 ft (3 km) at 57.6 kbps
- 24 AWG telephone pair: 12,000 ft (3.65 km) at 9600 baud, 7,000 ft (2.13 km) at 57.6 kbps
- Earth fault detection and shield termination on the left port only
No Block E contention: the 4007ES NIC sits in Block L, above Blocks G and H. Check network type: ES Net panels use the 4007-9817 NIC with 4007-6306/6307/6308/6309 media cards, which this card cannot replace.
