6808 — Silent Knight intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel with built-in dual-path communicator, in a red surface- or flush-mountable enclosure. It is the latest intelligent addressable FACP from Silent Knight and a direct replacement for the 5808 FACP.
The 6808 has one SLC (signaling line circuit) loop for connecting addressable detectors, supporting 99 System Sensor SK sensors and 99 SK modules — 198 addresses — or 127 Hochiki SD devices per loop. A common communications and annunciation link allows up to 17 panels to be connected via copper or fiber optic cable, with a designated panel configured as the communicator for all panels in the link for single-point communications. The built-in digital alarm communicator/transmitter is dual technology, IP and POTS: the POTS path transmits system status to a central station over the public switched telephone network, while the IP communicator sends alarm signals over the internet, saving the monthly cost of two dedicated business telephone lines. Optional cellular reporting is available.
Four onboard output circuits can be configured as notification outputs or as auxiliary power in four types — door holder, constant, resettable and sounder sync power. The panel also provides a form-C trouble relay and two programmable form-C relays, plus drift compensation, pre-trouble maintenance alert, a built-in sensor test to comply with NFPA 72 calibration testing requirements, and a calibration trouble alert. JumpStart auto programming, a built-in USB interface and the Windows-based Honeywell Fire Software Suite (HFSS) simplify commissioning, and firmware is field-upgradeable. SWIFT wireless support allows up to four wireless gateways, each fostering up to 49 wireless devices.

Installation notes

SK and SD devices cannot be mixed in the same system. Choose one protocol family and refer to the Device Compatibility Document and SLC Wiring Manual.

Output circuit budget: each of the four circuits is rated 3 A maximum, but the total across all circuits cannot exceed 6 A — size notification loads against the 6 A ceiling, not 4 × 3 A.

NAC end-of-line: Class B NACs require a 4.7k ohm, ½ watt end-of-line resistor.

Strobe synchronization is selectable for Amseco, System Sensor, Wheelock and Gentex devices.

SWIFT wireless is only compatible with System Sensor (SK) devices — it is not compatible with Hochiki (SD) devices.

Battery sizing: the cabinet physically holds a maximum of two 18 AH batteries; larger capacities up to the 55 AH charger limit require the RBB remote battery box accessory cabinet.

Environment: although rated to NFPA limits, installation in a normal room temperature of 60–80°F (15–27°C) is recommended, since extreme temperature and humidity shorten standby battery and component life.

Panel linking: connectivity for up to 17 sites requires the SK-NIC network interface card; fiber runs use SK-FML (multi-mode) or SK-FSL (single-mode).
