Siemens HZM (P/N 500-034850) — H-series remote conventional zone module.
The HZM is how an existing conventional zone is brought onto an addressable loop. Rather than rewiring a whole floor of two-wire detectors, the module powers and supervises that zone and reports it to the panel as one address on the DLC circuit — which is what makes a staged retrofit affordable.
- Powers up to 15 two-wire ionisation or photoelectric smoke detectors (Siemens ‘3’ or ‘11’ series)
- Or powers one beam detector (model PBA-1191) with no additional devices
- Monitors listed alarm-causing shorting devices: waterflow switches, thermal detectors, manual stations and similar
- Supports Class A (Style D) or Class B (Style B) wiring
- Occupies one address on the DLC circuit; no mechanical address programming required
- Accepts a 32-character custom alphanumeric message
- Multicolour LED visible through the cover plate: red for alarm, yellow for trouble, green for normal
