RSG NC-S1-R — single-pole break-glass manual station with a chained striking rod.
RSG publishes it on a datasheet headed "Manual Stations — Non-Code", separate from its SP Series manual fire alarm station. Breaking the obscured glass plate releases a heavy-duty plunger-type switch and initiates the alarm; RSG notes the steel rod is not necessary, as a blow from a hand, coin or key breaks the glass. Because RSG files the NC family as non-code, confirm acceptance with the authority having jurisdiction where a code-required manual fire alarm box is specified.
- Single-pole switch; the NC-S2 is the double-pole version
- Glass plate 2-1/2" × 2-1/2", Factrolite single-strength obscured type
- Mounts in a standard electrical outlet box
- Underwriters Laboratories Listed; California State Fire Marshal listing 7150-038:3
- Made in the USA
Siblings are easy to mix up. NC-S3 is identical but uses a micro switch and is approved for public school buildings. NC-S1-E and NC-S2-E are emergency-power-off versions for motors and pumps, not for signalling fire. NC-S1-P adds a key-operated pre-signal switch.
