NOTIFIER UDACT-2 — Universal Digital Alarm Communicator Transmitter, supplied with operating and programming instructions and mounting hardware.
The UDACT-2 is designed for use on NOTIFIER fire alarm control panels and on the NCA-2 Network Control Annunciator, and transmits system status to UL listed Central Station receivers over the public switched telephone network. Used with an NCA-2, it can report the status of all control panels on NOTI•FIRE•NET. It transmits the status of software zones (alarm and trouble), System Trouble, Panel Off-Normal, Supervisory, Bell Trouble, Low Battery and AC Fail, and can transmit all of the zone and point status associated with each panel — up to 2,040 points when used with the NFS-3030, NFS2-3030 and NCA-2, for receivers taking Ademco Contact ID format. The unit can be installed in the panel cabinet or remotely in a separate enclosure, and connects to the host panel over EIA-485. Programming is created and downloaded with VeriFire Tools, so the unit can be configured before installation, modified easily and saved online or offline; VeriFire Tools also upgrades the UDACT-2 operating firmware and prints point or zone reports that can be sent to the central station for their records.

Installation notes

Enclosure is not included: the UDACT-2 mounts in the panel cabinet or in a separate enclosure — ABS-8RB, UBS-1B or UBS-1BR. The ABS-8RB allows the unit to be mounted up to 6,000 ft. (1828.8 m) from the host FACP.

Two phone cords required: the MCBL-7 DACT phone cord is 7 ft. (2.13 m) long and two are required for the dual line configuration.

Contact ID for point reporting: Ademco Contact ID must be used for independent zone reporting. The 4+2 Standard and SIA formats do not carry that level of detail, so confirm the receiver’s format before committing to a point-level reporting scheme.

Receiver compatibility: the data sheet lists UL listed compatible receivers — Ademco 685 and MX8000, Silent Knight 9500 and 9800, FBI CP220FB, Osborne Hoffman 2000E, Radionics 6600, SurGard MLR2, System III and MLR-2000 — several with specific line card and software revision requirements. Verify the exact revision against the data sheet chart.

Remote mounting: the FBD-1 ferrite bead kit is for remote mounting only.

Relay output: the open collector driver takes the R-10E (SPDT Form-C) or R-20E (DPDT, two Form-C) relays, contacts rated 10 A @ 115 VAC.
