NOTIFIER NFW-50X (FireWarden-50X) — intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel with one SLC loop and a pre-installed IPOTS-COM communicator, in the black cabinet.
The FireWarden-50X is the latest intelligent addressable FACP within the FireWarden Series and is a direct replacement for the FireWarden-50 (NFW-50). It supports up to 50 addressable devices in any combination of detectors or modules, and programs just like FireWarden-100 products while fitting applications previously served only by conventional panels. The pre-installed IPOTS-COM is a dual technology communicator: the POTS side transmits system status to a central station over the public switched telephone network, while the IP side sends alarm signals over the internet, saving the monthly cost of two dedicated business telephone lines. The secondary telephone line may be retained as backup but is not required, and optional cellular reporting is available with the CELL-MOD or CELL-CAB-N over AlarmNet. The panel ships as a main circuit board with display, the pre-installed communicator, a chassis with transformer, and a backbox with door, plus a bag of screws, cables and the key. Programming is done at the built-in programmer or offline with the FS-Tools Windows utility, uploaded and downloaded through the panel USB port or over ethernet; the USB port also takes a flash drive for the whole program, history file, walk-test data, current status and system voltages.

Installation notes
-
2.7 A is the real ceiling: each NAC can deliver 2.5 A special application, but the maximum total 24 VDC system power shared between all NAC circuits and the ANN-BUS is 2.7 A. Size notification loads against that total, not against 2.5 A per circuit.
-
Battery capacity is limited by the cabinet: the on-board charger covers 7–18 AH and the FireWarden-50X cabinet holds a maximum of two 18 AH batteries. Batteries larger than 18 AH require the CHG-75 or CHG-120 external charger and a separate battery box (BB-26 or NFS-LBB).
-
Black versus red: the NFW-50X is the black cabinet and takes the DP-ES-B dress panel and TR-CE-B trim ring. The red NFW-50XR takes the DP-ES-R and TR-CE.
-
Offline programming needs ethernet: the entire program can be created in the office with FS-Tools, but offline programming requires an ethernet connection. FS-Tools is a free download from notifier.com.
-
Auxiliary and reverse-polarity signalling: NFPA 72 Auxiliary service and reverse polarity signalling of alarm and trouble both require the 4XTM transmitter module.
-
Wiring: shielded wire is not required, but all SLC wiring should be twisted-pair to minimise electrical interference.
-
Recommended environment: although the panel meets NFPA requirements to 49°C, battery and component life is best in a normal room temperature of 15–27°C (60–80°F).
