NOTIFIER NBG-12L — dual-action manual fire alarm pull station with an SPST normally-open switch, screw terminal connections and a key lock.
The NBG-12 Series provides a non-coded alarm initiating input signal to conventional fire alarm control panels such as the SFP Series, and to XP Transponders — it is a conventional device, not an addressable one. Pushing in and then pulling down on the handle activates the normally-open alarm switch; the handle latches in the down position, the word “ACTIVATED” appears at the top in bright yellow, and a portion of the handle protrudes at the bottom as a visible flag. Resetting is a matter of inserting the supplied key, twisting a quarter turn and opening the front cover, which lets the spring-loaded handle return to its original position; the alarm switch then resets by hand or automatically when the cover is closed. Cover, backplate and operating handle are all moulded of durable polycarbonate, with white lettering and trim, and the red colour matches System Sensor’s SpectrAlert Advance horn/strobe series. The station can be opened for inspection and maintenance without initiating an alarm.

Installation notes
-
Conventional, not addressable: the NBG-12L is a dry-contact initiating device for an IDC. If the panel is a NOTIFIER intelligent system that must report the exact station location, the addressable NBG-12LX is the correct part — see data sheet DN-6726.
-
Key versus hex lock: the NBG-12L is the key-lock model and ships with keys 17021 (set of two). The NBG-12 is the otherwise identical hex-lock model, supplied with the 17007 9/64 in. hex key.
-
Backbox choice: semi-flush mounting suits a single-gang, double-gang or 4 in. square box — the backplate overlaps a single-gang cutout by 1/2 in. (1.27 cm). For surface mount use the metal SB-10 or plastic SB-I/O. The BG12TR trim ring is optional for semi-flush work.
-
Outdoor use is a different part: outdoor application listings apply only to the NBG-12LOB combination (NBG-12LO plus approved backbox and gasket); the NBG-12LO is not sold separately, and a plain NBG-12L is not listed for outdoor use.
-
Contacts are low current: the gold-plated switch is rated 0.25 A @ 30 VAC or VDC. The 3.0 A auxiliary contact circuit published for the NBG-12 Series belongs to terminals 3 and 4 of the NBG-12LA annunciator-contact model only.
-
Wiring prep: terminal screws are backed out at the factory and shipped ready to accept field wiring.
