NOTIFIER FPC-951 — an intelligent, addressable multi-criteria detector combining photoelectric smoke and carbon monoxide detection in one device, white, UL listed.
The FPC-951 offers a cost-effective solution meeting both the UL 268 7th edition standard for smoke detection and the UL 2075 standard for system-connected life safety carbon monoxide detection, while occupying only one address on the SLC. Point ID capability sets each detector address with rotary address switches, giving exact device locations for alarm communication and selective maintenance. Both the smoke sensor and the CO cell use automatic drift compensation, and RealTest CO testing capability allows the CO side to be functionally tested. The CO cell has a ten-year life with an end-of-life warning and fault. The dual function of this single device suits installations such as hotels, schools and high-rise residential where both smoke and CO detection are required. NOTIFIER recommends using it with the B200S series intelligent sounder bases, which can generate a Temporal 3 pattern for fire or a Temporal 4 pattern for CO alarm indication, so occupants hear which hazard has been detected.

Per UL standard 2075, the FPC-951(A) has been tested to the sensitivity limits defined in UL 2034/CSA 6.19-01.
Installation notes

Check panel firmware first: the detector requires NFS2-3030 firmware v27.0 or higher, and NFS2-640 or NFS-320 firmware v27.01 or higher. An older panel build will not support it.

Sounder base separates the signals: the FPC-951 is recommended for use with the B200S series intelligent sounder bases, which produce Temporal 3 for fire and Temporal 4 for CO. For Canadian applications use the B200SCOA series with the FPC-951A.

Ten-year CO cell: the CO cell is a consumable with a ten-year life and gives an end-of-life warning and fault. Plan detector replacement into the building’s maintenance budget rather than treating the device as permanent.

Two different current figures: maximum alarm current is 2 mA @ 24 VDC (red LED solid), while maximum current is 4.5 mA @ 24 VDC (amber LED solid). Size the loop against the figure that matches the condition being calculated.

UL against ULC: the FPC-951 is the UL listed model. The FPC-951A is the ULC listed version meeting CAN/ULC-S529 and CAN/ULC-S588.

Synchronization: the B200S series bases recognize the System Sensor synchronization protocol, so the base can form part of the general evacuation signal alongside System Sensor horns, horn strobes and chimes when driven from a power supply or FACP output capable of generating those sync pulses.
