A CAB-4 cabinet is two separate parts: an SBB backbox and a locking door. When a door is damaged, drilled, repainted or missing, the DR-D4 restores a key-locked front to a four-tier "D" size Notifier enclosure without replacing the backbox. The window lets a responder read the panel display while the cabinet stays locked.

CAB-4 tier sizes do not interchange — an A, B or C door will not fit a four-tier backbox, and a DR-D4 will not fit anything smaller. Count the tiers before ordering. Cabinets using a CA-2 chassis in the top rows take the ADDR-D4 door instead.
