NOTIFIER CPU2-640 — the central processing unit for an NFS2-640 system, with an integral 3.0 A (6.0 A in alarm) power supply.
The CPU2-640 includes the control panel factory-mounted on a chassis, one Signaling Line Circuit expandable to two, and a documentation kit. Order one per system, or as necessary on a network system (up to 103 network nodes). Non-English versions are also available: CPU2-640-FR, CPU2-640-PO and CPU2-640-SP.
The CPU2-640 is the processing and power heart of the panel rather than a complete standalone system — a display is a separate decision. The KDM-R2 80-character backlit LCD with QWERTY keypad is required for each stand-alone 80-character display system, and on single CPU2-640 systems the optional NCA-2 Network Control Annunciator can instead serve as the primary display, connecting directly to the CPU.

Installation notes
-
6.0 A is a shared pool, not per-circuit headroom: the power supply has a total of 6.0 A available, shared by all internal circuits. The four NACs are 1.5 A each, which sums past the supply — see the Installation Manual for the current draw calculation sheet.
-
Add for each NAC in use: board current draw is 0.250 A plus 0.035 A per NAC. A KDM-R2 adds 0.100 A and a LEM-320 adds 0.100 A.
-
Battery size drives the cabinet: the charger covers 18–200 AH, but batteries over 26 AH require a separate cabinet. A BP2-4 Battery Plate is required in the CAB-4.
-
Line voltage is model-specific: the CPU2-640 is a 120 VAC board. For 220/240 VAC service order the CPU2-640E, which draws 2.5 A (3.0 A in alarm).
-
A display is a separate order: the KDM-R2 requires two BMP-1 blank modules and a DP-DISP2 mounting plate, and occupies the top row of a cabinet.
-
Network displays: on network systems of two or more fire panel nodes, one network display (NCA-2 or NCS/ONYXWorks) is required for every system, and the NCA-2 then requires a standard or High-Speed Network Communication Module.
-
Auxiliary and remote station service per NFPA 72 requires the TM-4.
-
Shipping weight: DN-7111:O prints two conflicting bullets for CPU2-640 shipping weight (14.3 lb and 14.55 lb), so no single figure is stated here — confirm with the manufacturer if it matters for freight.
