Notifier 32351718-001 — 10 ft NUP serial (RS-232) cable kit for the Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS) Gateway.
NUP is the NOTIFIER Universal Protocol, used for fire alarm panel communications, passing data between panels and networks without translation. This cable runs from the NUP port on the gateway board to the NUP socket on a stand-alone panel, on an NCM card in a standard-speed network, on an open NUP port of an HS-NCM card, or on a digital voice command unit.
- 10 ft length, supplied as a cable kit
- NUP is a serial RS-232 connection; the gateway may instead use a panel RS-232, USB or TTL port
- The gateway board NUP port is connector 6 on the board
- Switch S7, beside the RS-232 port, sets the direction of 24 V power on that connector
- NUP_IN draws gateway power through the NUP connection; NUP_OUT powers it from its own supply port
It is not the only NUP cable here and the lengths differ sharply. CLSS Gateway kit 50160636-001 contains a 30 " NUP cable with a lock and key set, and the panel-to-NCM link is NUP-to-NUP cable 75577A. The gateway itself is HON-CGW-MBB and is not included.
