Gentex GEC3-24WW — 24 VDC Commander3 wall-mount horn strobe with field-selectable candela and a white faceplate, catalogue number 904-1315-002.
A horn strobe puts both halves of an evacuation signal on one appliance, so one back box and one pair of conductors do the work of two. The candela slider is tamperproof, so an unauthorised change reports as a trouble.
- Field-selectable 15, 30, 60, 75 and 110 cd; the strobe draws 30 mA at 15 cd and 103 mA at 110 cd
- 16 to 33 volts, direct current or full wave rectified; terminals take 12 to 18 AWG
- Horn switches for 2400 Hz, mechanical, chime or whoop, continuous or temporal 3, high or low
- On high, continuous 2400 Hz gives at least 81 dBA at 10 ft per ANSI/UL 464 at 28 mA; whoop 82 dBA
- Every low-dBA setting, and the chime either way, is below the UL 464 public-mode level and private mode only
- ANSI/UL 464 and 1971 listed; CSFM 7135-0569:122; indoor only, 32 to 120 °F
The GES3-24WW is the same appliance without a horn, so no dBA or horn-current figure above belongs to it. GEC3-24WR is the red faceplate and GEC3-12WW the 12 VDC unit, which stops at 75 cd.
