Gamewell-FCI SLP-BLK — S3 Series Smart Loop Panel addressable fire alarm control panel supplied in the black S3, SLP-BB enclosure.
The S3 Series is a digital, microprocessor-based intelligent panel aimed at small to mid-sized buildings, in standalone or networked form. A basic configuration consists of the SLP main board, an LCD-SLP touchscreen display, SLC loop personality module(s) and a seven amp power supply. The main board provides one SLC loop, expandable to two, in Class A or Class B (Style 4, 6 or 7), carrying either System Sensor devices (up to 318 addresses per loop — 159 detectors and 159 modules — up to 636 per panel) or Apollo devices (126 per loop, 252 per panel). Boolean logic programming and auto-programming simplify configuration, and the panel is well suited to retrofits: it is designed as the upgrade path for legacy FCI 7100 and Gamewell 602 Series panels, and its electronic end-of-line circuit automatically adjusts to existing NAC EOL resistor values from 1k to 55k ohm. Networking runs over twisted-pair or fiber on a 625K baud ARCNET bus, and a built-in Ethernet port supports programming, system reports and FocalPoint® Graphic Workstation connectivity.

Installation notes

Loop module required: the ordering information states plainly that SLP-BLK requires either an SLC-PM (System Sensor) or an SLC95-PM (Apollo) for SLC loops — the panel does not ship with a loop. Add a second module for the second loop.

Protocol is chosen at the loop card: System Sensor and Apollo capacities differ sharply (318 vs. 126 addresses per loop), so the device protocol drives panel capacity planning.

Battery sizing vs. cabinet: the charger supports up to 55 A/H batteries, but the S3/SLP-BB cabinet itself accommodates 12 A/H batteries — larger batteries need external battery housing.

Display accessory: the LCD-SLP color touchscreen is listed as an accessory in this data sheet, and remote annunciation with it requires an E3 Series A2 cabinet (E3BB-BA2 or E3BB-RA2).

Networking hardware: networking uses the RPT-E3-UTP network repeater card, which itself requires an FML-E3 (multi-mode fiber) or FSL-E3 (single-mode fiber) card.

Retrofit: the SLP-RETROFIT kit covers the 7100 B-Slim and IF602 panels and includes a new door and mounting plate; SLP-RB motherboard and FLPS-7-RB 120 VAC 7 A power supply are the replacement/retrofit components.
