23901-01 is the replacement reflector for the EC-50R and EC-100R reflective beam smoke detectors. These detectors house the infrared transmitter and receiver in one unit; the reflector (prism) is mounted directly opposite the detector with a clear line of sight and returns the beam to the receiver, where smoke in the path is measured as obscuration.

Compatibility and installation notes
- EC-50R: one reflector, detector mounted 15 to 160 ft (4.6 to 48.8 m) from it. The EC-50R ships with one reflector.
- EC-100R: a group of four reflectors, detector mounted 160 to 330 ft (48.8 to 100.6 m) away. The EC-100R ships with four reflectors.
- Mount reflectors on a secure surface directly opposite the detector, not on glass or other reflective surfaces.
- Keep all objects at least 19 in. (483 mm) from the center of the beam along its whole length, and keep doors and moving equipment out of the beam path.
- Loss of the prism or sudden misalignment is one of the listed causes of a trouble signal.
