Edwards EOL-10 — end-of-line resistor from the Edwards EOL series, fitted at the far end of a supervised fire alarm circuit.
An end-of-line resistor lets a panel tell an intact wire run from a broken one: the panel pushes a small supervisory current through it and watches, so an open conductor reads as a trouble instead of a silent dead circuit. The resistance is a design parameter, not a detail — the wrong value shifts that current, which is how a broken circuit ends up reading as normal. Edwards issues a catalogue number per value, and the number carries the value.
