Edwards EC2-SB — standard base for the Edwards EC2 Series conventional two-wire detector heads, 4 in. diameter with 4 terminals.
The EC2 Series is a head-and-base design. The EC2-OS photoelectric smoke head, the EC2-OSH smoke and heat head and the EC2-H heat head are each sold as a head only, and each needs a base to mount and wire it. This is the plain base: no relay and no trim skirt.

EC2-SB4 is the same standard base with a trim skirt at 6 in. diameter. EC2-RB (4 in.) and EC2-RB4 (6 in., with trim skirt) add an auxiliary relay. The Edwards sheet lists the SIGA-TS trim skirt separately as an option. Kidde prints the same line as KC2-SB in its own edition of the sheet. The two brands use the same hardware but do not always pack the same parts in the box.
