Det-Tronics 009700-001 — magnetic hand tool for operating the sealed magnetic switches on Det-Tronics flame and gas detection equipment without opening an enclosure.
An explosion-proof instrument cannot be opened in a classified area to press a button, so Det-Tronics puts the switches behind the glass and drives them with a magnet from outside. On the FlexVu UD10-DCU there are four of them, under the faceplate icons.

Det-Tronics offers two magnets and they are not equivalent. The 009700-001 is stronger and is the one recommended for switching through the UD10-DCU viewing window; the Calibration Magnet, part 102740-002, is recommended where the gesture is made against the side of a metal housing, as on the PIRECL.
