BRK SMICO110 — sealed 10 year lithium battery combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, catalogue number 1046890.

This is the maintenance-free member of the family. Its 3V lithium powercell is sealed into a tamperproof housing, so there are no battery changes and no low battery chirps for the decade it is in service. At end of life it chirps and cannot be refitted to its bracket, which forces replacement rather than silent failure.
