55000-440APO is the Apollo XP95 I.S. (intrinsically safe) heat detector, classified A2S. It is an analog addressable detector from the XP95 range built for hazardous areas, where it is connected to the loop through a mandatory safety barrier. A single thermistor reports a count proportional to the surrounding air temperature, which suits areas that are normally dirty or smoky.

Compatibility and installation notes
- A safety barrier is a mandatory part of an I.S. system. Apollo states a typical I.S. circuit carries up to 20 detectors (12 optical detectors in an IIC environment), depending on barrier type, devices fitted and how many detector LEDs the control panel lets illuminate at once.
- The remote LED is wired in series with the integral LED and cannot be controlled separately from it, as it can on standard XP95 detectors.
- A remote LED indicator and its terminations need at least IP20 protection and segregation from other circuits per BS EN 60079-14.
- Intended for hazardous areas, dusty environments, refineries and offshore platforms.
