Ansul 53080 — 45 lb (20.4 kg) pail of standard FORAY, the monoammonium phosphate based ABC dry chemical suppressing agent.
FORAY is the only ANSUL dry chemical agent carrying a Class A rating, which is why it is specified where ordinary combustibles sit alongside flammable liquids. Ansul singles it out for combination Class A and B fires, and for Class A fires below freezing.
- Monoammonium phosphate based with chemical additives
- Class A, B and C: ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids and gases, live electrical gear
- Yellow, to distinguish it from other ANSUL dry chemical agents
- At least four to five times as effective as an equal weight of water on Class A
- Never to be mixed with bicarbonate dry chemicals, which harms the extinguisher
Two siblings look identical on the shelf: 415788 is a 45 lb pail of Industrial FORAY and 434906 a 45 lb pail of Modified Industrial FORAY, both yellow, so weight alone does not identify the standard agent. The larger packs are the 200 lb drum 25397 and the 400 lb drum 9385. Ansul warns an extinguisher may be refilled only with the agent named on its nameplate.
